Golden Hour is our sugarcane decaf from Belén de Umbría in Colombia's renowned Risaralda coffee-growing region, where the Samaria farm — in the same family for four generations — anchors a lot of carefully selected Caturra from regional producers at 1,500–1,800 metres.

After harvest, the cherries undergo a traditional washed process with a 12-hour fermentation before being carefully patio-dried. The coffee is then transported to Descafecol in Tolima and naturally decaffeinated using the renowned sugarcane (EA) process — gently removing caffeine while preserving the coffee's sweetness, structure and clarity.

Golden Hour delivers everything we look for in a comforting espresso: notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar and honeycomb, supported by a smooth body, gentle sweetness and a clean, malt-biscuit finish. An espresso that doesn't ask you to compromise — whether it's your first cup of the morning or your last of the evening.

Chapter 01 · The Producer

Four generations of Samaria, gently decaffeinated with sugarcane.

Samaria Farm sits in Belén de Umbría, in Colombia's renowned Risaralda coffee region. Established in the 1930s and in the same family for four generations, the farm has built a reputation for exceptional coffee through traditional farming methods, careful cultivation and a commitment to continual improvement. This lot of Caturra is cultivated at approximately 1,600 metres. After a traditional washed process with a 12-hour fermentation, the coffee travels to Descafecol in Tolima, where it is naturally decaffeinated using the renowned sugarcane (EA) process — ethyl acetate derived from fermented sugar cane gently removes the caffeine while preserving the coffee's sweetness, structure and clarity.

This is a fantastic coffee. Very fruit forward, tastes like cherry Starburst. Great as a filter coffee, but if you like adventurous espresso, this makes for an interesting cortado.
